Impressions: Onechanbara Bikini Zombie Slayers

This has been a long time coming. I decided to give Onechanbara another chance - the previous time I got permanently stuck in Aya's campaign as I couldn't handle mud men at all. Honestly, tying attack combos to Wiimote motions sounds - and is - a bad idea in my opinion.

So, I restarted the game from beginning and to my surprise, this time I managed to do the heart extraction to the mud men easily enough. Whaddya know.

I just finished Aya's campaign on normal. I don't know if I am going to finish the game with other characters.

The plot... just ignore it, since there's not much to make sense of anyway. As far as I can figure, the plot is a sequel to a bunch of PS2 games or so (possibly the XBox360 game Onechanbara - Bikini Samurai Squad as well). And based on the dialogue at the end of Aya's (as far as I know, she's one of the two main protagonists) story, she still doesn't know an important thing about herself (and it isn't revealed to the player in her story either).

Still... it's a mindless wagglefest. I didn't use much strategy in fighting the baddies. I didn't even need to. The bosses didn't require it either. And I definitely didn't learn to use the fancy combos the game has... I think. Waggle waggle waggle, and the enemies fell before me. You can already check other reviews to see that the music, level design, graphics and whatnot is not particularly great in this game.

The scary thing is that I am tempted to try writing Ranmachanbara to try out the sexploitation genre. I doubt I'll be doing that, though.
